I was going to do a video vlog today, however, I’m stuck on lazy and refuse to make myself presentable! And for Valentines Day Crafts…don’t you think I should at least be showered? LOL
Last night (and right now actually), the kids started on the Valentines. And for us, with two in B&M and one Homeschooling, Valentines Day takes on a whole new meaning. It becomes a major social event and even a chance to learn! So without further delay, here’s a list of ‘must haves’, for Valentines Fun!
Assorted Recycled Boxes
Pom Pom Balls
And the list goes on, but you get the idea…
A hit at our house, is when we have each child decorate a shoe box! Then on Valentines, we put all the crafts that we’ve made for each other, in the boxes ❤ The kids love it! And don’t forget the Candy Hearts!
Often times, the best course of action, is to just throw it all on the table and let them go!
My little guy enjoys making Valentines Day Bugs! Obviously, there’s a million ways to get creative with bugs….the sheer variety of insects on the planet, keep them going for hours! LOL
As for my daughter, bracelets are a favorite! She includes them in her Valentines to friends and family. She used pipe cleaners to string the beads. They hold up a lot better then string!
Another fun task on Valentines is the decorating. Hearts, hearts and more hearts!!! You really can’t have enough hearts! So we make decorative Valentines Flowers from Foam and Pipe Cleaners…PLUS…there’s no delivery charge! ❤
Or how about a checker board! Using weaving, you can create a fabulous board, then use foam hearts as the pieces…
My daughter came up with a cute Valentine Key Chain<3
The idea being…the possibilities are ENDLESS! A box of odds and ends and an imagination that doesn’t quit!
If you check out my Feb 4th Blog, you’ll find my Valentines Winter Squash Recipe…..Valentines Craft Days, are a great time to incorporate fun Valentines Theme Foods.
The idea, is to completely immerse yourselves in the holiday! Think back to grade school, when we all traded those little brown paper bags or think back to homeschool, a time when your family spent endless hours, creating colorful memories.
One of our creations last night, was a Valentine Tic Tac Toe. I’ve seen these made in multiple ways all over the net, but we went with simple. Construction Paper, Pipe Cleaners and Foam White and Red Hearts.
And of Course, the whole point of Valentines Day…the CARDS!
A way to tell those you care about, just how much you love them.
When we finished with all our paper crafts last night, we decided that a snack was essential! LOL
So we made a tray of Cupcakes and used Foam Hearts and Twisty Ties (inserted in the center of the Cupcakes) , to create another food for the season….and yes…we were out of pink cupcake papers, so those are actually Christmas cupcake inserts. LOL
